Join a community of learning for nut-based vegan cheese-making! In this 4-adventure series, we will spend the summer practicing and exploring the basics of vegan cheese-making, from soft/cream cheeses, to cheeses that have culture and need time to ferment. On our 3rd adventure, we'll have an expert guest make cheese with us! For the last adventure, we will decide as a community what we want to explore and learn more about.
We will send you an email to confirm your registration, and send an invitation to the online community once registration closes and we are confirmed to have enough participants. Approximately one week prior to each event, we will send you an email with the ingredient list for the upcoming adventure, and a second email with the full Adventure Guide and Zoom link 1-2 days before each adventure date.
NOTE: Cost is per Zoom invite link, not per person.

To go Nuts for Cheese with the group, you'll need:
A Zoom-capable device and a solid Internet connection
Ingredients from the ingredient list for each adventure (see preliminary ingredient lists at the link below for an example of what these might look like)
In addition to standard kitchen amenities like a stove-top burner and refrigerator, we will also recommend having access to a blender, a nut-milk bag or cheesecloth, a stainless steel mixing bowl, and a spatula (for scraping, not flipping)
Cleanliness and sterilizing utensils and vessels are important for cheesemaking, as is having access to non-chlorinated water (tap water can either be boiled, filtered, or distilled to achieve this).
Pro Tip: Even if you already know that your blender is not super strong, you may not need a more powerful one for this workshop! We’ll be exploring several options for making nut-based cheeses that may not require a powerful blender.
